2010-2011 Traditional Fulbright Scholar Competition is Now Open

The Council for International Exchange of Scholars announces the opening of the 2010-2011 Traditional Fulbright Scholar Program Competition. From March to August 1, 2009, U.S. faculty and professionals are invited to apply for Fulbright scholar grants. The Traditional Fulbright Scholar Program sends 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year to over 130 countries. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Partnership for International Research and Education (NSF)

The Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE) program seeks to catalyze a higher level of international engagement in the U.S. science and engineering community by supporting innovative, international research and education collaborations. The program will enable U.S. scientists and engineers to establish collaborative relationships with international colleagues in order to advance new knowledge and discoveries at the frontiers of science and engineering and to promote the development of a diverse, globally-engaged U.S. scientific and engineering workforce. The total for all projects associated with this solicitation is up to $40 million over Fiscal Years 2010-2014, it is anticipated that 5 to 20 projects will be funded.

Note about application deadlines:

Some of the grant opportunities listed above are limited submission programs. K-State Office of Research and Sponsored Programs have issued the following instructions about limited submission programs:  "Limited submission programs have sponsor restrictions on the number of proposals that may be submitted by a single institutions and will require institutional screening to determine which proposal are submitted. Dr. Jim Guikema, Associate Vice Provost for Research, is the internal coordinator for limited submission programs. Please notify him at 785-532-6195, email: guikema@ksu.edu, by the internal due date listed in the Funding Bulletin or at least two months prior to the sponsor deadline if you wish to submit to a limited submission program."
